A brief introduction of the Cavalier Wrestling Club and the programs we offer. Based in Charlottesville, VA, the Club is committed to growing the sport of wrestling in Central Virginia by training the next generation of wrestling student athletes.
The Cavalier Wrestling Club serves wrestling at all levels: Scholastic, Collegiate, and Olympic.
CWC supports the Central Virginia wrestling community in several unique ways. Jim Harshaw, former UVA All American and CWC President, and Scott Moore, UVA Asst Coach and CWC Vice-President, explain.
1. The Cavalier Wrestling Club hires staff to provide instructional opportunities for collegiate and scholastic wrestlers. Current coaches include John Kammauff ofr the elementary program, Michael Eareckson for the middle school and Jim Harshaw, who helps with both. Also, Steve Garland, Scott Moore, and new addition to the staff, Alex Clemsen (All-American formerly of the Edinboro University), serve as club coaches.
2. The Cavalier Wrestling Club offers off-season practices in which UVA and scholastic wrestlers participate nearly year-round.
3. The Cavalier Wrestling Club funds travel for UVA, post-graduate, and other CWC member wrestlers to non-NCAA National and International competitions and training programs per NCAA Regulations.
